One of the most important steps in applying a lasting manicure is to start with a clean nail surface. This is the function of Nail Lacquer Remover and Cleanser. Unlike many other lacquer removers, Amera's Nail Lacquer Remover and Cleanser is based on ethyl accetate rather than acetone. Ethyl acetate occurs naturally in many fruits and is one result of fermentation. While ethyl acetate is an effective lacquer solvent, it is not nearly as drying to the natural nail fibers and skin as acetone.
Ethyl acetate is combined with other ingredients to mitigate the effect of having a solvent in direct contact with the skin. Glycerin is added to aid in moisture retention, and hydrolyzed keratin protein is added to condition the skin and nails. It also has benzophenone-1 to absorb UV light.
Caution: Even though Amera's Nail Lacquer Remover and Cleanser is less damaging than acetone products, it is still a solvent and you should limit its contact with your skin. It is also flammable, and should not be used around open flames. Use no more than once a week.
